A kid’s guide to finding Jesus:
Have you ever found a really cool playground? It has all the right things so you can play for hours.

Somebody designed that and built it just so kids could have fun!
Have you ever seen really pretty flowers or huge, amazing mountains?

God designed those. He made everything on Earth work together so we could grow here.
He designed us too!

He made each of us different and special.
And He likes what he designed.
There was only one problem. He is perfect and we are not.
Every one of us does things we shouldn’t do.
God could force us to do what’s right, but that would be like making us robots.

So, we mess up and that made God sad because he wants to be with his kids.
Problem is, messed up can’t be with perfect any more than light can be with darkness. Just turn the light on in your room to find out. It’s either light , or it’s dark.

So, God made a plan.
He sent Jesus, who was a part of God (the Son of God), so he was perfect.
He lived a perfect life and then gave it up to pay the penalty for what we do wrong.
It’s like, if you broke a window and your friend paid to have it fixed, only Jesus paid for everything we do wrong for our whole life.

Here’s the crazy part. All we have to do to accept it is, well, accept it.
If you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and trust Him to forgive and lead you, God accepts Jesus’ payment for our wrongs and welcomes us into his family.
That doesn’t mean that you will be perfect and that life will be perfect.
It does mean that you can turn to God to help guide you and comfort you in the good times and the hard times.
You accept God’s forgiveness by talking to God (praying) saying something like this:
God ,thank you for making me. Even though you made me pretty cool, I confess that I have done some bad things. I heard that your son Jesus paid the penalty for those bad things if I trust and accept that forgiveness. I trust you to forgive me, to guide me, and to comfort me. Please come and be a part of my life. Thank you!
If you prayed that, make sure you tell your parents or grandparents or someone you trust.
